In a sign of relief, Commercial Tax Department in Rajasthan has recently announced that business units relating to cargo/ transportation now do not require e-Way Bills for job work within 50 km of transporting goods.
According to Alok Gupta, Commercial tax commissioner, “As business units will not be required to generate e-way bills for transport of goods for job works commencing and terminating within 50 km, their compliance burden will be reduced.”
An exemption of an intra-state e-way bill on job work is a great move which was executed by the government recently. It would help in accelerating business and reduce the burden of paperwork for business units.
Relaxation on intra-state e-way bill for job work is not surprising as industry units were demanding to exempt the e-way bills with 50 km radius as they were facing problems on daily basis, said Federation of Rajasthan Trade and industry. The Federation said in a press release,“It was an irritant in the process and finally the government realized it and removed it”.
An intra-state e-way bill was implemented on 20th May just after the execution of countrywide eway bill on 1st April 2018. The e- way bill generations had crossed the mark of 1 lakh just after 10 days of implementation. Senior officials stated that, now the queries from industrial units have been reduced as e-way bill system is now more stabilized and hassle-free.
