Here you go.<\/p>\n<div id=\"toc_container\" class=\"no_bullets\"><p class=\"toc_title\">Contents<\/p><ul class=\"toc_list\"><li><\/li><li><ul><li><\/li><li><\/li><li><\/li><li><\/li><li><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n<h2><span id=\"GST_rate_on_Online_Transactions\">GST rate on Online Transactions<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The old service tax (which was 15%) on bank payments and online transactions has now been replaced by <strong>GST at the standard rate of 18%<\/strong>. This tax shall be applicable on the fee levied by banks on the online transactions performed by their users. That means users will now have to pay 18% <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsthelplineindia.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/18\/gst-tax-rate\/\">GST taxation rate<\/a> on their bank transaction fees. Let\u2019s understand by the example of the State Bank of India (SBI).<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"GST_charged_by_SBI\">GST charged by SBI<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Here\u2019s how SBI charges fees and GST on different types of bank transactions.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"GST_transaction_fee_on_NEFT\">GST (+ transaction fee) on NEFT<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) is the most common type of bank transfers. It is a one-to-one transfer from an SBI account to an account of any other bank in India. There is no limit on the maximum amount you send via NEFT. The service can be used online as well as through any of the bank branches. SBI charges a fee on every NEFT transaction performed by their users, online or offline.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transaction fee for NEFT through SBI Online<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For online transactions up to Rs. 10,000: 1 rs. + GST 18% (of 1rs.)<\/li>\n<li>For transactions from Rs. 10,001 to 1,00,000: 2 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>For transactions from Rs. 1,00,001 to 2,00,000: 3 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>For transactions above Rs. 2,00,000: 5 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Transaction fees for NEFT through SBI Bank branch<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For SBI bank branch transactions up to Rs. 10,000: 2.50 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>For transactions from Rs. 10,001 to 1,00,000: 5 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>For transactions from Rs. 1,00,001 to 2,00,000: 15 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>For transactions above Rs. 2,00,000: 25 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"GST_transaction_fee_on_RTGS\">GST (+ transaction fee) on RTGS<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) is an instant money transfer facility through which one can make high-value transfers of Rs. 2 lakh or more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transaction fee for RTGS through SBI Online<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For amount 2 to 5 lakh: 5 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>For amount above 5 lakh: 10 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Transaction fee for RTGS through SBI Bank Branch<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For amount 2 to 5 lakh: 25 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>For amount above 5 lakh: 50 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"GST_transaction_fee_on_IMPS\">GST (+ transaction fee) on IMPS<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Immediate Payment System (IMPS) is an instant electronic fund transfer service. The funds are transferred instantly and transaction fees are usually higher. The maximum transaction limit in IMPS is 2 lakh rupees, and the facility can only be accessed online, as of now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transaction fee for IMPS through SBI Online<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Transfers up to Rs. 1,000: No fee<\/li>\n<li>From Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 10,000: 1 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>From Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1,00,000: 2 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<li>From Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 2,00,000: 3 rs. + GST 18%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* IMPS facility cannot be used at bank branches.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"GST_transaction_fee_on_payments_via_Mobile_Wallets\">GST (+ transaction fee) on payments via Mobile Wallets<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There are a number of mobile wallets apps, such as Paytm, Phonepay, etc., that allow users to make money transfers to other users and even to bank accounts. Here\u2019s the list of wallets along with their bank transaction fees.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paytm to Paytm transfer: Free of cost<\/li>\n<li>Paytm to bank transfer: 3% + GST<\/li>\n<li>Mobikwik: 4% + GST<\/li>\n<li>HDFC Payzapp: 2% + GST<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most other digital wallets charge the similar fee (2 to 4%) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsthelplineindia.com\/blog\/2017\/11\/28\/gst-on-insurance-premium-and-bank-charges\/\">GST on bank transactions<\/a>. Some other wallets like Phonepe and Tezz allow bank transactions through UPI.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"GST_transaction_fee_on_payments_via_Mobile_Wallets-2\">GST (+ transaction fee) on payments via Mobile Wallets<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>UPI (Unified Payment Interface) is a government facility in which users can transfer money from any bank account to any other bank account via Virtual Payment Address (VPA). The facility is being provided by most of the banks and some digital wallets in India.
